It is many years later, and once again the hottest year on record. Humans aren't made for this... You can see it in our timeline today, the humidity penetrating our psyche...slowly driving us mad. Burning our patience short. Unprecedented times create new weather. New phenomena. New behavior. Tis a brave new world indeed.
It is impossible to summarize the devastating changes Trump's first term wrought. White nationalist violence spilled into the streets unaltered. Boogaloo Boys. Proud Boys. Patriot Front. Y'all Qaeda. Vanilla ISIS. The Blue Klux Klan. Real Life Nazis. They all came out in force calling for Civil War 2, and beat people in the streets until it ended with full scale nationwide race riots against the police.
Put one up for Big Floyd.
Trump also successfully turned the Supreme Court into a High Church Council bent on taking away women's rights and forcing us all into their narrow Christian Nationalist vision of "Freedom, Liberty, and Justice for all."
Roe v. Wade was successfully overturned shortly thereby.
If this wasn't enough, QAnon emerged in American culture during Trump's presidency, destroying families and seemingly turning every single table conversation in America into a fucking conspiracy. The full-blown attack on truth that was QAnon was so clean, and so affective, its consequences are still rippling through our society today.
For instance, since QAnon, it seems that every new manager I work for believes ever stupider and ever weirder conspiracies, without end. Am I the only one?? Everyone has their own version of the truth now. Their own ultimate conspiracy, including me! And reconciliation of the facts just doesn't exist for us here, because we've defunded education in this country for 40 years straight! We've been "fixing the budget" ever since the Raegan administration y'all!
We're so dumb now, we don't even know why nobody knows nothin.
QAnon then, was just the final nail in the coffin of Truth here in America, leveraging all the mighty potentials of social media directly against the ignorance of the populace itself, and it worked.
Whitewash everything. Hit reset. These are the devils of an uneducated democracy.
What's more fucked up is, if it weren't for the Covid-19 pandemic, Trump's madness probably would have just kept going. In 2020, 8 out of every 10 white people in America voted for more of this violent fascist "solution" to the problems of our society. 80% of white people!
How many are consciously violent white-supremacists, and how many are just simple believers in Trump's false prophecy doesn't actually matter when you have to defend your sanity and your family against the entire movement, every single day.
2020 was categorically the worst year in all of our lives, for those who lived through it, and everyone who did not. But 2021 didn't really hint at anything getting better.
When Trump lost his re-election bid to Biden, cops and service members then attempted to overthrow the very government they were sworn to protect. Indeed, the infamous January 6th attack. Some of these men cried and were confused when they were arrested and charged with terrorism afterwards.
Cops then, in response to Biden's win, just stopped fighting crime! For four years straight. Homeless camps exploded in size due to evictions from the pandemic. Auto theft, catalytic converter theft, and drug markets all thrived out in the open, thus forcing the populace to arm itself against itself even further...and everyone blamed Biden. What a perfect set-up.
Indeed. Not til the Supreme Court said Trump was immune and homelessness was a crime would the cops come back out of their hidey-hole, ready to begin their punishment.
Their feelings were apparently very hurt by the "Defund the Police" campaign in 2020, even though it ultimately failed, got them more money, more weapons, fake towns to train in, and brand new "Superjails" to fill.
Yeehaw! Trump was really whipping them up in his newest re-election speeches too. Gettin' em ready to round up the communists, the socialists, the anarchists, immigrants, and all the filthy freeloaders and scum of the Earth type people that penetrate our precious "Land of the Free".
Remember kids: Prison labor is slavery, and prisons for profit are an attack on everyone's freedom.
Anyway. Four more years of Trump seemed all but inevitable during the entirety of Joe Biden's presidency. There was nothing stopping Trump's comeback, and his "revenge tour" to get back at everyone.
That is until "Genocide Joe" turned out to be too old for the gig, and was forced to step down because he couldn't finish complete sentences, and the money for his presidential bid had all dried up.
In steps Kamala Harris, Trojan-Horse style, apparently there to upset the racists even more all along. The electric snap of her campaign took everyone by surprise, including her opponent. Suddenly the race was on.
Suddenly the game is interesting again. The pieces are moving in unpredictable ways, and maybe I won't spend my forties in Trump's prison labor camps? Wow! Or maybe I still will. It's so hard to tell.
Tonight is set to be the only debate night between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, and it should be a banger. I wonder if Trump will wear another huge bandage on his ear, or if we'll actually see the wound from the assassination attempt. I wonder, I wonder. I guess we'll see.
Either way, with so many American Demons armed and pitted against one another, ready to fucking kill one another, it'll be a goddamn miracle if we can get through the night without another national tragedy unfolding.
